I was wondering i have a rottweiler, and i'm not sure if he ate or attacked a bird, because i see feathers all over and a foot in my yard. Anyways, my question is will it turn him violent since he tasted blood. I mean he's a very nice dog, never once attacked us.

I've raised them for about 20 years now & have never seen one turn on their owner. I had one that got senile & bit me once though. I think I startled her & she just reacted.

No. If he attacked a bird, it was because the bird is a prey animal. You are part of the dog's family. He will not attack you. He will not regard humans as prey, though it is possible he could see some humans as enemies or rivals. But this will not be affected by his eating a bird.
But if he has killed a bird, he is likely to do that again.

Rottweilers and Pit Bulls are the two most problematic dogs.

They have such a terrible history in Denver that they were banned. I have lost count of how many children and adults have actually been killed in reports I've seen. The horribly maimed are more numerious.

You need umbrella liability plus very good homeowners insurance. Your dog must be trained.

The question to consider: Are strangers and children safe in the vicinity of your Rottweiler?

Another item to consider --

If he ate a sick or dying bird, will he become a Rottweiler with bird flu. That one I cannot answer, but lest you think the question is amiss, check out

It appear likely your Rottweiler will kill all smaller animals in his vicinity unless you discover some other explanation.

My experience says a dog that does this will do it again and again, and sometimes there could be a penalty.

Some owners have been fined heavily for their dog's behavior in public parks where there are ducks, geese and/or ponds.

What if he gets loose? What if there is a fail, elderly lady walking by?

Last case I heard about, a man took his very young son from custodial mother to his trailer, put him to sleep in bed, and then went shopping -- leaving the Pit Bull inside.

The results were too gorey to report here. Google for countless similar incidents.

Not trying to tell you how to manage -- just thankful that you are asking questions.

A local pet expert may do better.

Many dogs have a strong prey drive without showing any hostility to humans. Cats and small dogs might be in danger, though.

Of course, he might have simply eaten a bird that the cat or some other factor brought down. Dogs will eat damn near anything.

If he did indeed attacked and killed the bird then you should get rid of him. This act shows the potential to do other living things great harm. Seems to me this is something that should have been handle with training. Yes, you train a dog not to bite and you train it not to kill.
