Chicago will. Strongest bullpen in the division, along with some great young arms who can steal the 5th spot in the rotation. Plus the lineup of Erstad - Iguchi - Dye - Thome - Konerko - Crede - Pierzynski is the best in the division too.

Two things consistant, it will not be the Royals nor the previous winners. Sans KC, the Al Central is the best Division in baseball. All four frontrunners are excellent but the Indians will be the surprise but if you look closely, will it be a surprise.
The Twins have a good young core with Mauer, Morneau, a healthy Hunter, Santana and Nathan. The problem is no Liriano means one monster only and a thin but capable rotation. Good for NL West but not Al Central.
The White Sox are not quite Guillen's personality like they were when they won it in 2005. They are loaded in the middle but questions at lead off and second base, will the power be enough. Because the pitching becomes a more lingering qustion each year as Buehrle becomes more squirly.
The Tigers will be a sexy pick and hard to blame anyone . Adding Sheffield is great especially reuniting w/ Leyland. But did they fix the problems that cost them the series and the answer is no. Overalll pitching is excellent and the offense will better but not enough to compensate for their situational defense.
Now, the Indians are loaded and healthy on offense. Sizemore and Hafner are unbelievable when healthy. The pitching isfine in the start. Their only holdup will be the bullpen. Stiill Borowski allows the others to go to their natural settings alot like Tod Jones did for the Tigers. It will be a long year and it is funny I say these things being a Braves fan first and Tigers second. But, i say it as I see it!!!!!

I'm from Minnesota, so it may just be bias that I'm picking the Twins. But they have one of the best all around teams in baseball. They were able to resign the whole middle of the order (Mauer, Morneau, and Cuddyer), and with Punto and Bartlett having at least half a season under their belts starting, I see them makinga big impact. White kind of scasres me, but we'll see what he'll do if he gets the starting job. Hunter will have to do something, just to prove he deserves his outrageous salry. The rotation is the only question mark, but Sntana will have another strong year, and I see Silva making a rebound. The bullpen will be spectacular, as usual.
As for the other teams, I see the Tigers getting into some injury trouble, and not overcoming that. The Indians will dissapoint, just because thats what they always do. The White Sox could put up a fight, but I just don't think they can pull it out.
Any way, the Central, hands-down, be the best division in baseball.

i'm a twin fan, so i hope and think they will win, even with the weak rotation they will have. Johan will carry them though, and the young guns will step up, and they have the strongest bullpen. And the offense is better than it was last year.
watch out for the Indians though, they have a chance to be GREAT if they play like they can.
And I smell injuries for the Tigers. Shef, Mags, and a pitcher or 2 will go down.
The White Sox regressed from last year, so no.
And we don't even need to mention the other team.

Detroit.... 2nd best pitching staff in baseball (behind the Bo-Sox), and an extremely talented and deep lineup, and not to mention a great coaching staff. It's hard to tell though, that's gonna be a tough division, the Twins and White Sox will be strong contenders as well.

Detriot will win. They have such a solid starting rotation that will only get better this year because of the experience of last years AL championship run. Not only that, they only improved their offense mainly with the addition of Sheffield who won't be under as much scrutiny as he was in NY but who will have a great lineup around him to protect him. Detroit Detroit Detroit.

I'm going to have to go with the Tigers...and not just because I'm from Michigan. They only lost one pitcher (a middle reliever) and added a consistent DH (unlike the 4 or 5 they used last year) in Sheffield.

the Cleveland Indians. Its a make it or break it year for them, the pressure is on, they must win now. I believe they will step it. I see a third straight appearance by an AL Central team in the World Series this year. Go Tribe!
