If my husband will sponsor me and my son in Dubai, how much will it cost him for two person? And if and only if we get there, is it required that I should be employed immediately? I am a librarian by profession, is there a big chance that i would get employed?

If you and your son come here on a visit visa and don't want to leave the country to come back on the right entry visa, the costs for visa change are Dhs 1.100,00 per person. This includes Dh 500,00 which has to be paid for the change of status and another Dh500,00 because the person chose not to leave the country. an additional Dh 100 is also charged as application fee.

If your visa is issued in dubai and you prefer to leave the country for the change in the visa status, you will pay only Dhs 500,00 fees.

Not included in this amounts are the translation fees for your documents. All necessary documents required for the visa application have to be translated into Arabic by a certitied Translator.

Let me know where you are coming from so I can provide you with the place where you can have your papers ready even before you get here, so you can come here on the right visa already and don't have to go through the visa change.

If you come here being sponsored by your husband you will get a "housewife" visa and can't work on that. If you find a job, then sponsership has to be transferrred to your employer on his costs.

Sorry, don't know about chances to get a job here as a librarian. Guess you would have to be bilingual. But maybe at an american school or American University. You'll have enough time to check this out when you'll be here.
