Plants require water,CO2 and light energy for a very important biosynthetical function called as Photosynthesis. By the process of photosynthesis the plants make organic substances especially carbohydrates, which are used as food and for various other developmental processes. It will die a slow and grueling death... the first stage is that the plant will wilt, then the leaves begin to dry and fall off the plant. The stem then shrink and dries up like a twig. How did I know? I went on a long trip and forgot about my poor office plant. My co-workers didn't even noticed!
