My baby is getting pretty fat and I wanted to know if it was my fault because I might be taking in too many calories.

No your calorie intake does not affect the amount of calories in your breast milk. breast milk is just about the same woman to woman all breast milk carries 20 calories to oz.

I know this because of the fact that I have had 4 premie babbies 2 of them had to be on a human milk fotifier (hmf) to increase that anmount of calories that are in my breast milk

Everything you eat goes through your breast milk so if you are eating alot of fatty foods it will go to your baby, but if you are on a regular healthy diet its fine some babies are just geneticaly bigger. Just be sure that you don't try to lessen your calorie intake more than just a well ballenced diet, you are not suposed to diet until the baby is 6 months old because they need the calories you are passing through your milk. My first was huge and she was bottle fed and my second is still a little peanut and breast fed there are just some big babies and some little babies and as long as your doctor isn't concerned then you shouldn't be either.

Hi,

I took this quote from a web page from the link below.

"Overtime, if your caloric intake is compromised and you lose weight too quickly in the postpartum period, your milk supply could be affected."
