I have a Digital Photography class that requires our pictures to be submitted to the Prof. via cds. My cd is a "cd-r," and the Prof left comments about my pictures, but now I can't add any more pictures for some reason, and I can't edit the content of the cd. Is it possible that he accidentally locked the cd somehow (meaning no more can be added?) If not, how can I add more pictures. The cd isn't even full

CD-R disks CANNOT be re-written. The "R" stands for "Recordable." If you want to change or add to a CD later on, you need a CD-RW; the "RW" means "Re-Writeable."

You also need to make sure that you create the CD-RW using the same burning software each time, as other brands will not be able to read the contents.

You cannot add or edit anything on a CD-R disc once it is burned, even if there is tons of space left. You will need to get a CD-RW (rewritable disc). It is basically acts a floppy disc, where you can add other assignments, and erase old assignments. However, as cheap as CD-R disc are, I would stick with them, and "burn" a new one for each assignment you got to turn in. Chow

As mentioned, CD-R are write once, read often (hence the CD-Read Only Memory). CD-R are cheaper than CD-RW

To fix your problem: Do you still have the original pictures on your PC? If so, just edit them from the computer. Then burn them on a new CD-R.

If they are still in the camera, transfer to PC and do your editing prior to burning to CD-R.

If pictures are not on the PC, or in the camera, copy them off the CD-R and back on the PC. Do your editing and then burn them on a new CD-R.

CD-R can only be recorded on once. It means Compact Disc-Read. As once it has been recorded, it can only be Read. You should get a CD-RW it means Compact Disc-Read Write. As once it has been recorded on, it can be erased, changed, added to, etc. up to 100 times. CD-RW usually cost slightly more, and you can find them almost anywhere, even some Safeway's

cd-r=cd recordable
cd-rw=cd re writable
just copy the pics on your hard drive then make a new cd-you can configure your cd even if its not rewriteable to be able to download more later-just dont finalize the cd-and use nero
good luck

The CD-Rs can only be written once. You'll need a CD-RW (rewritable).

Since a CD costs about 17 cents, why not just use a new one?

cd-r's cannot be re-written. You must buy a cd-rw.
