I mean like, do they prefer to be around guys, do they act repulsed when they are asked to dance with girls, do they seem kinda secretive and act like their hiding something? Could this be the behavior of someone that maybe doesn't know they're gay or bi? I just want to know because i have this friend that is like that and im wondering if he's gay or bi. I just want to know because i kinda like him and i want to know if he might be "that way." He has already told me he doesn't think hes gay or bi, but you know what they say, actions speak louder than words.

It is difficutl to tell, but I'll give you some pointers here from my experience:
(1) How they sometimes interact with women seems unusual. They may talk about dating women but never actually do.
(2) They intellectualize the supposed dating trouble they have with women and blame their looks, their body types, etc. It's like they are constantly looking for excuses to justify the fact that they have no dating life with the opposite sex.
(3) They may have a freudian slip every once and a while and use the term "dating" when talking about a male/male friendship in casual conversation.
(4) Some may be gay-bashers but others (probably most) say absolutely nothing negative about gay or bi people at all.
(5) Some are homophobic, but others may appear to not have a homophobic bone in their bodies.
(6) At some point, you will see them crotch-watch or even stare at a guy from a distance who has caught their eye, especially if he is disrobed (locker room) or partially nude - bare-chested -- like at the beach or swimming pool.
(7) They may be over-religious and might even label themselves as unworthy and sinful when they appear to be just nice guys.
(8) They don't talk about their sexual orientation when the topic of discussion is on sexual orientation -- even when that conversation is between two very close buddies and confidants.

Well, I was one who would say that I wasnt gay, in which the truth is that I am! Anyways, what you can do is just be his friend right now, and be supportive of him in every way you can. If he is really gay, then he will come out to you. And you might want to tell him your feelings to. Hope that helps!

well, if he knows you're gay/bi and has told you he's not like that, he's saying he's not interested because, since he would know you're gay, he knows you're someone he could probably come out to and trust you to keep it to yourself.
now if he doesn't know you're gay, i would recommend making up little scenarios involving homosexuality (like "a friend of mine asked me if i thought it was gay to masturbate in front of another guy, what do you think?") and gauge his reaction, but act like it's not that big a deal to you, maybe he'll get the hint that you're not quite straight :)

It's really hard to tell..but if he told you that he's not gay or bi..then he's told you that he's not interested (I assume he knows that you are gay or bi)

They can appear to be carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders. Not literally, but pretending to be what you're not takes an enormous toll on one's overall appearance.
