You shouldn't tell on yourself now. It will only cause hurt to your wife and free up your conscience which is something you should have to live with. If you didn't say anything years ago why open a can of worms now. You are right about the past staying in the past but you might want to find out why you are still worrying about it after six years. Maybe you are thinking of doing it again.

no it's not OK that you cheated on your wife at all, but telling her now will only hurt her. However, if she ever does find out and confronts you about it be completely honest and maybe if you are extremely lucky she will forgive you. You don't sound very sorry though, so if I were her I wouldn't forgive you.

it not ok, it about trust, it does not matter that it was years ago.
it was done. and if you did it once, then you may do it again since it was no big deal as you stated.
