for myself it varies, within the unconscious resonances
of our experiences lay our own symbolic archetypes,
the explanatory energy comes from emotions and
feelings, in which there is no rational order, within
lay an economy of motifs which i may mediate into
an idea, what is important is to break habit, i never
want to compose music which sounds like every
tom, dick & harry, it is novelty which is true expression,
to break habit, creating something new, in this way there
is the catharsis which follows the inner discovery, a
melancholy charm as it were, a sudden transfer of
emotional intellectual illumination, indivisible processes
which lay in the wonder of our mind and thoughts as well
as our psyche, we combine the infinite of our thoughts
to the finite of our experiences, to blend an idea as original
from transcending emotions, inspiration is everywhere,
i may find a Muse in a friend or the shadows cast from a
stone laying out in the sun to manifest an archetype
for future potentials of reference to create an
idea for text or music, there is no one way to
suggest inspiration
is a static concept within the thought present,
art is beauty in what you feel is the truth as you
feel it to be so,
yet truth is always an on going theory for
expression in art .................

Other artist I admire
People
Anything that catches my eye. It depends on which urge I am satisfying.
Poetry is inspired by love and emotion.
I am a prolific writer on anything that comes along. The words just pour out without looking anywhere.
Photography whatever I see that I feel I can do something interesting with. Some things work out better than others of course.
History and the ancient arts.
But basically, it all comes from inside myself.
Sometimes though, I just wake up with ideas that are fresh and new. Those are often my favourites.

I am a writer and I see inspiration in the following:
1. watching movies- if you are observant, watching movies introduce you to a new storyline, an new interpretation of a role by an actor. Watch how the set designer created the visual setting of the movie, etc.
2. reading magazines- when I experience creative blocks, VOGUE and ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST magazines are good to read. Vogue features many of the top clothing designers, and the featured clothes add a twist to an existing style, which inspires me and spurs my own creativity juices flowing too. I can see how the creative process is done. ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST exposes me to the latest architects/interior designers and their latest designs.
3. nature - Just relax , go to the beach or just sit in a park bench and try to observe what gets your attention. Is it the sky? the clouds? try to describe what you see.. the colors itself might inspire you
4. travel - many artists have been inspired in their latest works by travelling to a totally different place.
5. going to a museum- go to works of art dating back hundreds of years before your time

Since you answered my question and were so helpful I ll return the favor.
The media I work in is mixed media, drawing, decoupage, jewelry design and textile design.
For me nature, light and the weather are huge influences.
But then again an artist fried in the city loves watching people and is inspired by the noise and architecture of city life.
So it depends on your temperment.
What things do you find yourself repeatedly drawn to ?
Make a list of things that fascinate you and then explore thme as creative sources.
Bets of luck and thanks again for your great advice !

Everywhere. Everything is inspirational if you're looking for it. That is what is great about artists. They see something in everything.

It depends on what I am creating. Most of the time my inspiration comes from the people I know, mainly my famiily.

I think creativity comes from within. So, most often I am inspired during moments of heightened emotion - sadness, rage, happiness, fear, etc.....
