During the 1960's, the hippies and others said, "Make love, not war" to protest the Vietnam War and promote "free love." This was part of their basic philosophy; they were also against "The Establishment." It was a very amazing time.

The phrases took hold, and are still with us today.

Yes, I agree with you...the love should be there if you are intimate with a person.

Maybe having children was an expressoin of love, and in the older days sex wasn't for pleasure it was for making babies...so....Make Love = make kids?
