No, I think the singers are holding back and it sounds flat. They are singing below the notes they are trying to hit and he calls it pitchy because it is. If they just let it all hang out he would like it more. Of course if they can't let it out then he is right in telling them the song is too much for them. Hopefully they will listen and kick butt next week. Song choice is everything.
