I personally, do not recommend either one of these. Limewire is full of viruses. That will definitely wipe out your hard drive in a heartbeat. However, you asked the difference between legal and illegal, and viruses.

Yes, there is a difference between downloading music, videos, sofware, etc. on the internet, illegally and legally. I can tell you, that just about any P2P shareware, that you download is illegal. Being as the fact that they contain copyright material. This is where the illegal part comes in. So in any P2P shareware downloading, you are breaking the law. So Pro or Basic Limewire -- you are still breaking the law.

If you would use something like Yahoo! Unlimited, and pay for it -- that is an example of something that is legal. This is legal because Yahoo! owns these songs, and is allowed to sell you them. While as in a P2P shareware program -- they contain copyright material that is not their's. Which makes it illegal, that's why so many of them get in trouble and still continue to today.

Now, to answer your other question -- yes, there is a difference in viruses. Well, more like different types. Some are worse than others. Such as Trogans, you don't get any badder than these babies. If you get one of these, you better hope you can clean your hard drive -- and even then, you're lucky if you get the virus off. Then, you have the worms, these are almost equal to Trogans, so yes, they're very bad. These two types of viruses alone, are bad enough. Let alone, the rest of them you could catch.

This is why I strongly recommend using something else, such as a legal program. Where you're not breaking the law for downloading, and you aren't getting those awful viruses (you can get spyware from P2P too), that make your computer very ill.

Its completely criminal to apply Limewire and Limewire professional. Its in simple terms what you acquire and wether you're entitled to a replica is yet another concern. To obtain William Peterson is against the regulation in case you do no longer already very own the dvd. you need to purchase it or might finally end up determining to purchase 10,000 copies of the dvd and in all hazard penitentiary time....whilst you're traced and loose in court docket.
