Right now I am using a peer to peer interface to surf the web...I have windows xp internet explorer 7. It (internet explorer) just stopped working like a few days ago. I was getting online fine and now all of a sudden it isn't working. I don't have a router or anything just a wireless signal.

IE 7 is a very poor browser to start with. Try turning off auto phishing filter. Tools - Phishing filters.. and it will give you the option to turn off.

Try one of three things...

Open Internet Explorer 7 and

1) select Tools and make sure that Work Offline is NOT selected

check to see if IE 7 is working now

2) select Tools -> Internet Options
select the "Connections" Tab
make sure that the "Dial Up and Virtual Private Network Settings" has nothing listed in it.

check to see if IE 7 is working now

3) select Tools -> Internet Options
select the "Advanced" Tab on the far right
hit the "Reset" button on the bottom

check to see if IE 7 is working now

hello,
maybe your system doesn't meet all the requirements for 7.0.
you can go to: www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx
and check the requirements.
also, do you have IE 7.0 as your default browser? you can check that in the control panel under "internet options".
also, have you checked at "windows update" to get the service pack for 7.0? "windows update" (depending on the operating system you are running, is either on your start up menu, or on XP its under "all programs" as "microsoft updates".
if all else fails, do a search for "ie 6.0. free download.
Good luck!
I hope this helped! :)

It is Probably IE7's "Enhanced" security "features". go to the Internet options menu and change your security level to medium.

Its because your computer is telling you that internet explorer 7 hurts it and is slower than firefox. It wants you to use firefox.
