Well I had the following Symptoms of pregnancy: Slight stomach cramping, constantly using the toilet and headaches. Which I took Nurofen for two days in a row to cure. (the baby would have only been a couple of weeks old) Since then I haven't felt any of these symptoms again. Is it possible that I killed my baby without realising it?

P.S. I wasn't planning on becoming pregnant anytime soon but it occurred to me after that this might be what has happened.

What baby? Those are not the early signs of preganacy. Usually the first sign is swollen tender breasts, morning sickness and then a missed period. You don't mention any of these symptoms. Sounds like you had the flu. If you are planning a pregnacy, don't take any drugs. Most don't make you lose the baby but have a baby with congenital problems. I'm almost positive that you weren't pregnant and if you don't want to be, get on some form of birth control. No reason to ever be pregnant if you don't want to be but I think you are just fine at this time. Good Luck

This is a really hard question to answer. these symptoms may or may not indicate pregnancy, so you may not have been pregnant at all, so there would have been no harm in taking the nurofen.

if you were pregnant, it is possible that nurofen can cause a miscarriage. nurofen is not recommended for use in pregnancy unless your dr considers it necessary.

"This is particularly important in the first and third trimesters. If taken in the third trimester it may delay labour, increase the length of labour and cause complications in the newborn baby.

Some evidence suggests that NSAIDs should also be avoided by women attempting to conceive, as they may temporarily reduce female fertility during treatment and may also increase the risk of miscarriage or malformations."

So, while there is some evidence nurofen could cause a miscarriage, it is not really a definate. if you did suffer a miscarriage, it could have been caused by any number of things. personally, i dont think you were pregnant at all, so i wouldnt worry too much about this.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, other medicines may be safely used in pregnancy or breastfeeding providing the benefits to the mother outweigh the risks to the unborn baby. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, before using any medicine.

This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnancy unless considered essential by your doctor. This is particularly important in the first and third trimesters. If taken in the third trimester it may delay labour, increase the length of labour and cause complications in the newborn baby. Some evidence suggests that NSAIDs should also be avoided by women attempting to conceive, as they may temporarily reduce female fertility during treatment and may also increase the risk of miscarriage or malformations. Seek medical advice from your doctor.

This medicine may pass into breast milk, but in such small quantities that it is unlikely to harm the baby. However, as with all medicines, seek medical advice from your doctor before breastfeeding while taking this medicine.

huh? what is Nurofen? did u have a postive pregnancy test?? if you just had weird sypmtoms you dont even know if u were actually pregnant or not, so it would be impossible to determine wether the pregnancy was ended. IF you did have a pos pregnacy test , see a docotor and gret an ultra sound.
