the song black parade is open to many symbolism, it depends on what you saw in it
for me i saw the american soldiers, dying in Iraq, i saw how the song wants to say, that the father, should be the role model in the family, but if the father(soldier) is already dead in battle, the children would have to carry on without their parents guidance
that, by going to iraq and waging war, we still do not win, we still lose because eventhough you kill all of those terrorist, its still is life that you take, it still is life that you hinder , and therefore america will still pay a huge price by killing and creating weapons of mass destruction
soon therefore even if you win the battle in iraq, you would still be a loser, because america has forgotten love, the need for love, the importance of family
the song says how humans have been enslaved to money, how adults continue to love money and how the youth, the next generation will suffer because of this

just like the first two albums...the black parade is another concept album which is about a guy starving to death and lately joins the black parade ( as we can see in their video welcome to the black parade) . But lately in the latter, Gerard revealed the true concept behind the album and it is about him, who recently broke up with his girl after 6 long years. Gee was so broken that he compared it to cancer( That's why, I think they have the track called cancer). And he wants to move on and show the story of his affair by the album...and thats why he composed famous last words(the song is bout what he wants to say to the girl),I dont love you, too, is just like famous last words similar to this is how i disappear and disenchanted...i think all the tracks are connected to each other...

I have to agree with the bald guy . I have many times that the song is about cancer as well as the album being about Death and loss like love dieing in the song I Don't Love You , And Mama which I get to be about an overweight mother who no longer fits out the door and they are making a COFFIN her size. I can not believe that girl tried to make a political statement over Iraq over your question ... I think shed get an anti war message out of Somewhere Over The Rainbow...

okay.
the album, the black parade is based on the concept that death will come for you in whatever form you want,as shown in the song "welcome to the black parade", death comes for "the patient"[the main character of the album] as "the black parade"
in this album, we follow the patient as he goes on this "oddesy" like journey, and we take a look at his life.the patient is dying at a tragicly young age, from cancer.
the songs all show the patients feelings of fear, regret, and longing.

Like the band's first two albums, it is a concept album, centering on a character known as "the Patient," who takes a journey looking back on his life
