Whenever I tell him of how I feel and my thoughts and concerns, I get rebutted. I feel so upset.

How should I overcome this problem?
How do I make him understand that he is not doing the right thing?
How can his ego be killed, when being questioned?

Since I don't know your hubby....try one of two things...

No. 1.....Be assertive, and state your concerns/opinions in a way that doesn't allow for rebuttle comments. To be assertive is to "Say what you mean, mean what you say, and don't be mean when you say it".

or...

No. 2.....if he is like me....he rebutts, because he enjoys debate. Talk to him when there isn't something to debate, to find out if this is the case, and tell him that you would like to talk with him about your concerns, but that he is so good at stating his point, that you feel intimidated. My brother once told me that if I were in an arguement with Jesus, I'd win hands down....because that's the way I argue. If I weren't a stay-at-home mom, I'd be an attorney....lol. But to people like me, who love debate....what's the point of getting in to an arguement, if not to win??

On the flip side, my husband is as quiet and non-confrontational as they come, so I have had to back off....or else he'd be posting your question wondering how to deal with me!!

Good luck to you!

This is something that should of been figured out before you got married.

What do you do now? Counseling.

Please don't spend a life time in such a relationship- if things don't change

When people do that it's because they're having a problem with their own self-esteem.

Once you realize it's not your problem it's his problem he loses control over you.
