How you do on the SATs has NOTHING to do with how you perform in the classroom. I know of people who are numero unos in their classes but failed miserably on the SATs even after taking them four times. I also know of people who are in the bottom 40% of the class and scored 2400s on their first tries.

Well, although I would say the previous answer was a little exaggerated, it is true that your grades don't have anything to do with your SAT scores.

My advice is to take the PSATs your sophomore year in high school. That will be your best indicator of how you will do on the actual SATs.If you really want to get a head start, you can go to collegeboard.com and sign up for the Official SAT Question of the Day. They will send you a SAT question to your e-mail address every day to practice on. Not only will that help you improve your score, but it is a nice FREE way of getting a feel for the test.

Ultimately, it is still a little early to be able to tell if you will do well. Algebra and geometry make up about 90% of the math section, and the next couple years of high school is what is really going to affect your scores. Wait awhile before reading too deeply into the SATs. they aren't a big enough deal to be worrying about them so soon.

The thing about SATs is that it is just a test that tells you how good you are at taking the SATs.
