talk to your mother too. she may have had the same thing. start using a calendar to plot the days you feel like this, and the days you have your period. see if there is a connection.
if there is it is hormonal.
the doctor could be a very good choice. but having the calendar will help him/her understand what is happening specifically to you, and not give a general opinion, or a general prescription.

I'm not a doctor, so I don't have all the answers. But are you getting outside enough? Are you eating properly? Do the bouts of depression correspond with some other event in your life? Perhaps you are actually suffering clinical depression and those are just your bad days. Have you actually charted out the dates to see if there is any kind of pattern or are you just remembering that it's been a few weeks since you last felt that way?
Seriously, you should go see a doctor.

Although it is not PMS, it does sound cyclical. It may be that your period throws off your chemical balance in someway. You will probably be fine, if you can find what it is. The depression IS real, and could use a friend to get you through it. You probably don't need a shrink, but a nutritionist might be a good place to check in.

PMS--sometimes I can go months without it but the other times it hits me like a rock.2 months ago ----I cried one day --my bf and his daughter was asking me "whats wrong"--I didn't know.I was sad and crying and had no idea why.The next day I started. Then I knew.Next month---same thing. This month---I had no idea I was fixing to start.I felt fine.I guess it's one of those things that come and go.I'm dreading when I get older and go through menopause.I probably won't be able to deal with it.I feel for those around me---lol......

Are you on the pill? Birth control pills can cause depression and that definitely sounds like what you are experiencing. You need to contact your doctor and let him or her help you through this. Good luck and let your family and friends know what is going on - they need to know so they can help you too!:)

Maybe its because of what you think, what youve been through, what you feel that keeps you depressed. To get rid of it, pray, meditate because its one of the greatest depression reliever. Yoga, taebo and other meditative activities you can do!
