Your computer may have had an uninvited guest while you were down loading. The same thing happened to me. I fixed mine from this site. mark1marketplace.com

USALLY ITS DOES NOT HAPPEN THAT AFTER INSALLING IE 7.0 COMPUTER OR THE INTERNET SURFING BECOMES SLOW. I ALSO HAVE IE 7.0 INSTALLED RECENTLY BUT MY SURFING SPEED IS SAME AS BEFORE.
I THINK U SHOULD CHECK UR RAM MAY BE UPGRADE TO 1GB RAM FOR YOU COMPUTER IS GOOD CAUSE I THINK THE SPEED IS SLOW CAUSE IE7.0 MAY REQUIRE MORE RAM TO RUN SMOOTHLY .

Delete IE7 and use Firefox. Its a more reliable and safer browser to use.
