I'd like to know how i could work out and get stronger muscles without getting too bulky and cumbersome. I am working out on my torso and arms recently, doing push ups and chin ups. I just want to get the arms muscles stronger, but my shoulder seems to get a little bulkier; i dont want that. Does anyone know what i should do??

well no mater what you do to work out your muscles naturally develope, but if you want to limit their size growth use small weight and lots of reps. avoid doing exersizes that you find extremely strenuous. slow steady exersizing is the best to improve strength and endurance if your not wanting muscle developement. also get a trainer to show you what exersizes better target the area's you are weak in that is arms...ect...Lets

It sounds like you're on the right track. I used to lift weights, and I got a bit bulky, but a friend of mine who was actually leaner did a lot of situps. He'd do almost 200 a night, I think..anyway, it was a lot. And even though I looked more muscular than him, he would beat me at arm wrestling or even mercy, the game that I was always pretty good at.

DO your reps slower. WHen you go too fast it pumps up to bulky. Do a lot of stretching before and after to give your muscles more elasticity.

Read up on the differences in training techniques between bodybuilders and powerlifters. Powerlifters train for strength and not for size. Heavier weight training at lower reps.
