i just recently got my hamster. I bought a house that looked like the one he had at the pet store. he wont even go in it! is there something i can do so he will use it or should i try something else

he has to get used to his enviroment.. if you just got him, hes gonna have to get used to things.

Hamsters... I assume you have more than one .Hamsters can turn cannabalistic if left unfed. If you have several hamsters , you'll need more room. My sure you have legal hampsters. In California it's ok to sererate them for awhile. Now the hamsters I saw were all dead because the biggest one ate the others and then starved to death or was eaten by rattlesnakes. Ok now back to your original question about hampsters ... the answer is Location. Location, Location !!!. Hampsters need serarate bedrooms. When caged they will eat their young. My recommendation is a 2' x1'x 2' wire cage with seperate treadmills and food and a small bead curtains for privacy would be nice too.

my kids have a hamster, mr. little, and he loves to make his home in lots of bedding and some times he will actually move the bedding to a totally different area, also, it could be that he is too warm in the house, when mr. little gets warm he moves to the top of his cage when there is more air flow and will sleep there

Could be he doesn't like the smell of the new one. Wash it down with water and baking soda; let it dry and try again.

get him a girl hamster after a few weeks or so mybe he'll get ued to him home then

something our hampsters like is a half of a cocanut shell take all the cocanut out and then (it sounds funny but) then bake it untill it is dryed out (also they like to chew on it and is safe!!) but watch out its HOTT!! weare oven mitts when you get it out.

put some food on the bottom of his new house they have good sense of smell and then it will go in.
