I'm doing a research paper on anorexia nervosa. I'm in high school and we're required to write a research paper. I'm really confused about what I should write about. My thesis is Popular culture contributes to anorexia. What should my topics and subtopics be?

Maybe one should be about it being a mental disease, because it is. I went thru it when I was younger 18-25 years old and I did realize that I was in control mentally of letting it happen. I did not go thru rehab for it and I have not had a problem with it since. It's in the head, so maybe some of your research could be about that.

Celebrities like Nicole Richie, Mary Kate Olsen, etc. and the girls that look up to them.
Models that girls look up to and try to emulate.
Sports that promote Anorexia like ballet, gymnastics and figure skating.

one topic should be like celeberties that contribute to anorexia and subtopics be like different people and stuff...
another topic could be like styles or something since like certain clothings make people want to be thinner and such...

There is a really famous photograph example on the disease. It is a man from a concentration camp. Which goes to show that not all the time it's not you that is starving yourself.
