These people are complete scumbags and I can't convince her to break off communications with them. One of her brothers basically stole $4000 from us, the other one is a crack addict who 'borrows' our cars without asking, and every time I see her dad he 'jokes' around that he's going to shoot me and even goes into detail about which gun he will use. She says it's his twisted sense of humor, but there is nothing funny about death threats. I've never been anything but good to my wife, but I can't handle these people for one more day. If I have to start sueing people and having them arrested I may as well just divorce her.

Have you considered moving far away to another state where you will have no contact with them? (And yes, take your wife with you)

Sounds like you are on the right track of things. Just take is slow..... Be careful with the Zoloft thing. It can backfire and make you think of suicide. I have read this... Maybe your doctor can have you take 1 every other day? Just a thought....Hopefully you won't have to be on it that long. We all get stressed out with our busy lives and the worry of how to take care of our families . It sounds like you really do love your family and want to stay together. You are a team, you and your wife. Just keep in mind that she too has stressful days with caring for the children. Why not try this for a change to help your marriage. Have a grandma of the kids come over on a Fri or Sat evening for 3-4 hours. You and your wife go and catch a 2 hour movie/show....Then stop at MCDonalds or Wendy's and order from the $1 menu and sit and talk about the week coming up and what will go on, Like if you plan on being real busy at work for whatever reason,.. Maybe wife will mention a doctors appt for one of the children or going to her moms, Or to the grocery. Just discuss anything/everything/ Treat yourself to this with your wife once a week to break up the monotony of the week for both of you. It doesn't have to be an expensive restaurant.. Later buy Grandma a gift certificate to another restauarant. Or some perfume.. You can even pick up a $5.oo perfume at Walgreens for you wife every so often..Its the thought that counts!. And it will mean a lot to her. It will keep the fires burning, trust me! Good luck! (thanks for all you did for us while in the service)
