What step did I Miss Steering Gear Box?

Question

I removed Steering gear box,replaced orings and shaft seal,Filled
pwr steering pump cranked eng and smoaked the pump and belt .This is 85 chev 1/2 ton p.u.

your best bet is to go to a junk yard and buy a used one or buy a rebuilt one it (which would be expensive) there just very hard to adjust...they can be very tricky.....a used one from a junk yard really is your best bet

you could have got a lil dirt in the valve...
