The book? I read it in high school, or maybe middle school. I remember a little shock when I found out who she adultered with. I don't know if that's what you're talking about though.

If you are talking about the movie that Demi Moore and Gary Oldman starred in - the ending made me cry. They had to suffer for so long apart from each other. Finally alot of bloodshed takes place between the settlers and the Indians, and they break free of the colony to live out what's left of their lives with each other and their little girl. As they drive away, the little girl throws the scarlet letter into the dusty road behind. She had a little scarlet mark of her own on her tummy. It must have been so hard to live in such a time especially as a woman under such patriarchal control, and amidst such ignorance and fear. I thought Gary Oldman was magnetically appealing as the minister she falls in love with. The two were kindred spirits. It was powerful.
