Abroad = anything other the US and Europe. At some point in my life I'd like to relocate somewhere outside of the US and would like to start my own business once I get there. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the trends are?

Most businesses require investment. Wether it be monetary or your personal time(can't put a price on your time!). If you want to start with nothing sounds like you might be selling seashells by the seashore...lol

I would recommend doing something you love, sharing your expertise, or standing behind a product you trust. There are so many factors to consider here. When you decide where you want to relocate, then you can tap into what is needed. Demographics are key in your supply and demand.

If you plan on retiring with this business, it's best to do something you love, especially after many years of hard work and working for someone else. I wish you good luck and always follow your dreams...

Do what I did. I got started in the network marketing industry. I chose to contract out the services of a network marketing company that has offices overseas (over 75 countries in this case). With the right training from the right mentors, a few years later, I collect ongoing royalties from business that is transacted in several different countries every month. And if I wanted to change residence, I just notify the network marketing company of a change in address, so they will send the next royalty cheque to me at the new address.
