Nobody is really sure, but I think it is one of two things just from shows I have watched. Sorry, it is like really hard to explain but I think they are pretty logical...

i think that since there is no communication there,and that at that point there must be fog. plans do not see were they are going and crash.but nobody knows what happened .it's just what i think
