I was watching CNN special on Hip Hop and I couldn't help but notice that there was this black guy calling Rappers "mindless." and the only white guy on the panel was defending rap. I thought I was in the twilight zone. But it is not the first time I have sseen some conservative black person on TV making the same illogical arguments against black people that I am used to hearing from whites. I dont mean to say that black people can't criticize other blacks, but Im tired of seeing black people who grew up in the suburbs, went to harvard, and spent your life surrounded by white people, come on TV and purport to be experts on the struggle. Why so many uncle toms now a days?

If you think Mos Def, Lauryn Hill, Lupe Fiasco, (I could go on) is mindless you are an uncle tom. The real reason why there is so much "mindless rap" is because the white record comanies executives promote it. and suburban white kids (who are the main consumers of Hip hop) would rather listen to ****** rap about pimpin and hustlin than about the deconstruction of white supremacy (in the words of Michael Erik Dyson)

Mindless can be said about some of all types of music. There is good and bad in all music. I think there are so many Uncle Toms because they feel the more they put their own down, the more they will be praised. What I really hate is how they point the finger and don't lift a finger to make a positive change.

Because they, conservative blacks have realized MLK's dream and look back at these ignorant fools that keep the whole black race down.I don't think MLK's I have a dream speech involved players, pimps, gangstas and hoes.He was talking about people like Collin Powell who by the way is called an uncle tom by the hip hop crowd and other black race hustlers.
Michael Erik Dyson is a black race hustler, you quoting him is like a white person quoting david duke lol.
You should be quoting Rev Jesse Lee Peterson but people like you cant handle the truth.

Orwell was right said it very well. Middle and upper class blacks have gotten to where they are through hard work, not through whining and bitching and negativity. The hip-hop that most people are exposed to is that "playas, ho's and pimps" (c)rap, which is just reinforcement of negative stereotypes, so, yeah, I can see why they don't care for it.

I can sympathize a little for the successful black man. They are tired of the "******", as they fit the majority of the black stereotypes. This, in turn, reflects poorly on them. Funny how they are persecuted by their own, but sometimes the truth hurts.
It is a little different than the middle/upper class white man looking down on lower class whites, as most blacks admit to having something to prove. The black man has overcome some boundaries, and still has some to go.
And the white guy was probably afraid of being labeled a racist by the liberals and black community.
White record companies?????????
Try jewish, brotha.

This 2 cents charectar, obviously has
.02 worth of brains. This is a blatant
example of an uneducated black racist.
Mr.Two Cents should dedicate himself to
going into the black community and
helping to staunch violent crime, killing
his people in numbers, and not promoting the violent
thug lyrics of cRap. This is all jive that he posts.
He loves attention.
Any black person that does not promote criminality,
is considered a traitor, by these cretins.
"Uncle Tom", is an antiquated term.
How many blacks are going to defend this
thug lover?
If you do, you have a brain as minuscule
as the poster of this question.
And you have to live or die with that.

its the system of white sepremecy that WANTs rap to keep rap a black form of music, remember when eminem came on the scene the news didnt stop talking about it, and its only because he was white, it doesnt want white rappers it wants the world to see 'how black people are' and how we treat our women.
