The Cardinals won the playoffs but I wouldn't call them world champions. Not with an 83-78 regular season win-loss record. Their victory was a fluke. The Yankees were the best team in baseball last year, world series or not.

Unfortunately Not!! the Mets!! due the unfortunate fact that the Cardinals won the finell Divisonnal series in seven games. The Cardinals won the World Series in 4 games I think it was in 4 games due the fact the Detriot Tigers who made it that far for the American League, The American League's repasenttice made to many errors eight to be exact so the Cardinals won the series in 06!!. So many of the winners runs were unearnned But!! they still count So you have to give the Cards credit for getting there in the first place.

Yankees the best team in '06? Even coming from a Yankee fan this is really, really stupid!!! I hate people that say "oh this team won but this team was better..." How does that make any sense? The Yankees did not advance to the World Series- they weren't even the best team in the A.L.!!! Martinez, O'Neil, Brosius, and now possibly Williams- they are all gone- give it up Yankee fan. I respect the Yankee tradition and most Yankee fans but not fans who can't accept reality that their team simply was not good enough last year.
