Alrighty-
You move all the numbers to one side-doing the opposite of what it was, and leave numbers with variables (9x) on the opposite side. Then you simplify and solve.

9x + 2 = 36 move the 2 to the other side, and do the opposite
9x = 36 - 2 simplify
9x = 34 solve (do the opposite to the 9 so divide)
x = 34/9
x = 3 7/9

4x = 3 + 24 simplify
4x = 27 solve
x = 27/4
x = 6 3/4

5 - 12x = 3 move the 5 to the other side
-12x = 3 - 5 simplify
-12x = -2 solve
-x = -2/12
-x = -1/6
(since x is negative, you change the signs on everything...making x positive and the 1/6 positive)

I hope that this helps, I am pretty sure that your teacher did go over this. You were probably in the bathroom or something.

okay first eliminate any addition or subtraction, by performing the opposite operation to both sides. For example in : 9x+2=36, you need tp eliminate the +2 by subtraction 2 from each side of the equation. That leaves you with 9x=34. Now whatever operation is being performed do the opposite. For example divide 34/9 and you get 3.7.

the 1st step is to end the sq.... you're able to try this via taking a million/2 of the 2d term and then subtracting or including from the 0.33 term to end the sq.... subsequently, a million/2 of two is a million and in an attempt to get a million you will desire to subtract 2 yet then upload 2 to maintain each and every thing balanced... x^2 + 2x + 3 - 2 = -2 x^2 + 2x + a million = -2 (x + a million)^2 = -2 And there you pass :D
