Jamarcus Russell because the Raiders are dumb. They have more glaring holes than QB to fill but they will take one anyway. They need to get a better O-Line. They should just trade down and draft that offensive linemen from Wisconsin.

The first pick in the NFL draft (Oakland) will be JaMarcus Russell. Even as excentric as Al Davis is, it is evident even to him that Russell is the quarterback to lead the Raiders back to respectability. Russell possesses the strongest and most accurate passing arm in the game. He also is very mobile in that he has the speed to run if he has to and ability to scramble for extra time while his receivers get open. He is an excellent playmaker and let's face it, the Raiders need as many playmakers as they can get. It just makes to much sense to draft Russell rather than anyone else.

Calvin Johnson. The Raiders should be going after a QB in a trade likely involving Moss and/or Porter in the near future. Johnson is obviously the best player coming out this year and the Raiders biggest need (if you can only pick just 1) is going to be at WR. Plus, Johnson would fit in perfect in Raider Nation.

I would say JaMarcus Russell b/c they need a good future QB who will be the center piece of the offense. He can throw the long ball, run, and is a proven leader. Just look how he beat Notre Dame.
I have heard Calvin Johnson, but I have no clue why.

they are taking calvin johnson and this is because they passed up on fitzgerald a few years back FOR A DAMN LINE MAN loooooool...(sorry i still can't stop lauging at that)...sorry but linmen don't score for you...anyway.
they'll go with johnson when in fact their MOST OBVIOUS POSITION THEY NEED TO FILL is QB. when you have a player like moss and YOU CAN'T GET HIM THE BALL..etc...its time to scratch the defensive players (the raiders actually had a pretty decent D) and stop with the linemen in the first rounds already and go out and get a player who can ACTUALLY PUT POINTS ON THE BOARD.
either way they can't screw this one up (but i probably will be wrong..hey i said that when they had a chance to take fitzgerald and they screwed up and took gallary...a linemen..lol...sorry okay i'll stop)...the raiders will have at least 4 guys they could use to help them...but only 2 positions should they be looking at.
QB
WIDEOUT
i'll also say running back-but they can get that cheaper in later rounds..same for a solid wide out.
they could take
russell or johson or jarrett or petersor troy smith (heisman winner) and that's just on the offensive side-so many fine players this year that are worth a top pick. raiders have serious needs in qb and rb. but if they have a chance to develop a deadly recieving group then they should draft johnson keep moss-draft a qb with 2 round pick. they could and will trade porter who'll be good in a trade for draft picks).
its the smart and obvious thing to do.
however this is the raiders.

Russell, the raiders like qbs that can throw the ball down the field and i heard russell can throw it 80 yards in the air. He is a big dude and can run. This guy has an amazing amount of talent.

Their O-line does suck, but the Raiders need a QB more than anything else. The O-line have soem great talent, but they a lot of them need more maturing. I dont believe the Raiders would pick an o lineman, because they tried that with Gallery, and look how far he's gone. They need a playmaker now, not later, they need a franchise QB, and they'll find that in J-Russ.

Jamarcus Russell, he is big, strong, fast, and talented. He can spread the field deep (60 yrds with a flick of his wrist), this can definately help the lack luster performaces by this Allstar WR core. Also besides Aaron Brooks, they have no Qb talent at all. He also won the head to head Match Up vs Brady Quinn this season(the one guy who could have ousted him form that spot)
