I think we do ask.People must have a visa or passport. Most other countries alsoask for this kind of detail.

it is strange that you should ask this question at this time , and thanks for asking it, it seems to me they don't care who or why as long as they are either Black or Muslim,and want to get on welfare but, if some one who will be an asset to our country wants to immigrate here they are run thru so many hoops it is unbelievable,they need some one to sponsor them and prove they can support them for at least 3 years, but, who sponsors these dead beat welfare recipients??? guess, uncle SAM of course and he will do it with your hard earned tax you pay but need to pay your bills with and to feed your family with,
would some one please explain this concept??

We do ask - but we can't ask someone who sneaks in because we don't know who they are....and we don't see them....
If you ever travel abroad and return to the U.S. through Immigration control, you will see just what happens.....
