Every country can choose the way they would like to react on individual issues. That way, those in power, do a service to the people. There is no necessity for any country to be toeing the line of an other country on every issue. If so, why should USA rake up the issue of Japanese army's actions now, that too joining hands with China? USA sees everything to its advantage of economic activity, the large market now available in China. Any country thinking of its own interest, should that only be USA and not Britain.
