Hi there! Sounds very normal. I breastfed my son for 1 year, and in that year I only had 4 normal periods. I got my first one when he was about 8 or 9 months. I took a few pregnancy tests throughout that time too! :) I mean, you never know. But, until you get a real period, it is unlikely you will get pregnant. Here's the kicker though, my son stopped nursing at about 13 months and when he was 14 months old, I got pregnant. So I am pregnant with my next baby right now. It was really easy to get pregnant (for us anyway). Back to you, I wanted to also say that you could have a period one month and not the next. I does start to make you a little nervous about being pregnant. Nursing isn't birth control, but it sure seems to ward off ovulation pretty well until your baby starts nursing less. I would stop at Walmart (if you live near one) and buy the cheapest pregnancy tests they have. Just keep them for those months that you miss your period, if they are negative 5 days after your missed period, then you most likely aren't pregnant. :) Best of luck and congrats on nursing for so long!!

I nursed and didn't get my period back until I weaned her at 12 months. I don't what the clot would be from though.

Breastfeeding can prevent you from having a period, but it won't prevent you from getting pregnant. :D
