Your mom probably just wants you to look the best you can. I agree it's good to sometimes wear hoodies and track pants (everyone does), but sometimes comfy clothes aren't appropriate, and that's what your mom is thinking. Your mom won't let up, so I suggest you compromise... loose-fitting khakis or simple black cloth pants, or even jeans can look more formal... wear things like that sometimes and your mom should be happier. Does wearing track pants and hoodies make you happy, honestly? I'm a university student and so a couple days a week that's my usual attire but honestly I feel way more confident when I dress up a bit. Even wearing jeans and a nice blouse makes me feel better than the dumpy sweatshirts. Your mom isn't against you, she just wants you to look as good as you can.

how about a compromise with her. once or twice a week dress a little less sloppy (which sweats and hoodies are..hey got nothing against it but at least be honest and say its sloppy) and the other days dress in your hoodies and sweat pants.

its part of growing up-if you want to have adult opinions and views-you need to learn how to compromise first rather than just say you don't care about your moms opinion-YOURE HEAR ASKING US WHAT TO DO AREN'T YOU? APPARENTLY YOU DO CARE.. you are lucky SHE ISN'T MAKING YOU dress in something presentable (sweat pants isn't presentable-no matter how much you are gonna try to justifiy it)

So meet her half way and maybe the lame comments will stop.

While "normal" is of course subjective to the eye of the beholder, I do have a personal opinion. If you want to dress like a thuggie or gangster, people will look at you in that light with an obvious prejudgment.

As per me u peacefully talk with your mon, bcoz mom is best th friend of childrens.

You convence her abt your wearing style. Explain her abt letest fashion, which is suitable for ur personality.

I hope she will get understand & ur problem gets sloved.

Thats what I wear. Just as long as u r comfy. Explain to her that you dont like this. Tell her you are not as girly as her and dont wanna be. Be honest to her.

talk to her, tell her comfort comes first.
Then be open and listen to her, ask her what she wore to school.
Ask her about her teen years..........YOU may learn something about your MOM, and deflect the attention from YOU onto HER.

Be nice and just ask her to get out her year book, and photo albums and have a good laugh about how everyone dressed way back when......!!!

tell her it's your uniform
