Seriously... I was lookin at the lyrics to their album and I can honestly say it sounds just like Derek's and Addison's relationship, and/or just Addison's overall character/actions..

No the writting of the album was not linked to Grey's Anatomy, but a lot of people can relate The Fray's songs to their own relationships or ones that they've witnessed, whether real or on TV or something.

It could be the music came from the story or the story came form the music. It works out that way some times.

I don't think the songs were inspired by the show, but someone must have heard their music, and decided to use it on the show. I think the song was written before Grey's even started, but I give props to whoever chooses their soundtrack!
