I am not very fast, but I made my HS baseball team. Coaches love it if you hustle everywhere. Appear confident also, because if you play with fear, you won't do well. Make sure your grades are good also. Other than that, just play as well as you can. You may be intimidated, but just try hard and hustle, and you'll make the team.

This always works at my job.........always spend more time rubbing shoulders with the coach and his/her daughter that plays on the team. Just always tell the coach how great they are and how wonderful they coach. If the coach looks like they need a drink of water, run to the water fountain and get them a glass of water as fast as you can.

As a coach for 20+ seasons- put everything you've got into every drill. Practice doesn't make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect. You try your heart out on every play on the practice field and I"m going to put you in before the slack-all superstar.
