i just played tennis tonight for the first time since autumn, and when i was playing, i kept getting pains in my left hand (i'm a leftie) near my pinky and ring finger. im 15 and a girl. ive been playing since i was in 6th grade (if that's important).
i don't think i've ever gotten tennis elbow; i'm guessing i'd know if i had it. no elbow pains, just my hand.
this happened last year too, is it my racquet (magnesium Head with a tiny shock absorber)? i am getting a new racquet for my birthday in a month though, hopefully a Flexpoint.

sooo, yeahh.. ?

the reason your hand and pinki hurts is not anything else than your flexing your hand when you hit the ball. keep a good firm grip but dont over grip it. im willing to be went it started hurting your shots went worse. the only thing you can do is adjust your hand for the grip or re grip to fit your hand. i play with my pinki hanging off the racket. but i know what your going through. so just work on your grip and you will be fine.

The problem probably wouldn't be the racket. It was actually proven that shock absorbers don't absorb anything but the sound.
The problem could be from your mechanics, maybe you are doing something wrong mechanically and that's putting pressure on your hand. I would let your coach ( or any coach ) know about it and see if he can clean up your fore hand a bit to help it.
And if they say to just forget about it, review your forehand yourself. TRY TO KEEP IT AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE. Is your back swing huge and over your head? Are you making contact with the ball behind your body? that could do the trick!
Okay, hope this helped, good luck!

You should have an x ray to check you're cervical spine (neck). You may have a pinched nerve in the C5/C6 area. If you've had whiplash or a knock in the past this could be the cause. You're exercise program may also be the cause if it is causing imbalances in you're muscular skeletal system. Until you find out you shouldnt play tennis as you could make things worse and take longer to heal. Being young it might be just growing pains
but I dont know and you would be best to see you're doctor.
Good luck, hope you're back playing soon.
