I think plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, oil change, air filter... Anythin else? Anything that I have listed that is not necessary?

What you have listed depends on the condition of those parts. Oil change is needed every 3 to 4000 miles, air filters depend on the area you are in. If it is generally dusty, then between tune ups might be needed. An air filter at tune up is not a bad idea. Fuel filter is not generally done at a tune up. New plugs, new wires if they are over 50000 miles old, as well as a new distributor cap and rotor. One of the biggest things that you have not mentioned is timing the engine. At a tune up, checking the engine timing is a must.

On many newer engines that have very long intervals between "tune ups", you may need to replace the timing belt and/or adjust the valves. This may be called a major tune-up. If you have an owners manual, check it for the required services for your mileage, or check the manufacturer's website for recommended service for your mileage.
