I'm a United fan and I think Lille took the game to us very well. They have done well to get to this stage of the competition. The players are not to blame for what happened with the spectators. That deserves to be investigated however as there could very well have been serious injuries. The action taken by police authorities needs to be dealt with also. Heavy handed and over the top. It was not the players who wanted the walk off, it was encouraged by staff. The point remains though that the goal was taken within the rules and Lille could/would have done it too had they had the chance or thought to at all.

I think every one is going a bit over the top about what happened.
It was a member of the coaching staff that called the players to the touch line,I don't think the players would have gone off.But why did the United players then try to get involved, especially the union man Neville, even Fergie thought that was wrong.I also think there would have been a very strong protest if it had been Lille that had scored in that way.I also think there would have been strong protests if United had scored like Lille did and it had been disallowed.
Of course now everything French is crap according to United fans, hope that includes Cantona and Saha.

i am from singapore and i watched between us and the thai national team, they walk off in protest during the game was disgusting. Both the thai team and Lille have no RESPECT for the game itself. I am very supportive of booting Lille out of the champions league. They are not worthy of playing in the league. Moreover their crowd control is also very worrying, how can they allow more fans to enter when their stadium can only hold so much... They are just trying to cash in more from this game. disgusting!

I don't know how they made the champions league. Some of the teams that did not make the second round play much better soccer!

as a united fan, i think they are a good side they really put my team under pressure and show great strength, but they i very inexperience and walking of the Field was a shame i must say, but if i was a judge and ask to rate them i would put them among the best 20 in the world.

They gave us a good game, shame they had to resort to conning the ref on some occasions.
United can take nothing for granted in the return leg, we only have 1-0 lead.

I think it's bollocks what they tried to pull against Man Utd. The goal was perfectly legal, and to just try to walk off and refuse to play the rest of the match was a disgrace to the game.
