I would say that most men are naturally non-monogamous. Women to a lesser extent.
Men cheat in 60% of relationships and women 40%. In fact, I assume that, contrary to social opinion, monogamy isn't normal for all people. Unfortunately, society isn't accomodating to those who want to be both honest and are not naturally monogamous. Open relationships are seriously frowned upon.
Most guys or girls don't cheat to get sex. It happens, but not to most people, IMO. Most fall into a relationship unexpectedly and only have two options they see open to them. Leave the new relationship, which is brutally difficult, or cheat. Society has shown them only those two choices.
I am polyamorous. I am very open about my feelings and non-monogamous nature. I always make certain everyone involved is aware and OK before I enter into a relationship (their significant other, if they have one, and my wife). Though sex is a component of these romantic relationships, it's no different than anyone with a girlfriend or wife. They are long term and very loving relationships.

the human species is not considered completely "monogamous" in generalized terms....i agree in general men "cheat more", but between the ages of 24-35(more or less) the women cheat more...statistically women between those ages keep more "notches on their bedpost"as well...i personally don't think a person's sex has anyhing to do with their "faithfulness"in a relationship....i agree with the other guy...girls cheat for different reasons....guys cheat just to make it happen..i hope i helped you out with your'e question a little bit ..take care

Definitely! It's their nature. We poor humans thinks we are sooooooo developed when actually we have basically no control over any of it - it's all Nature's decision.
War is caused by males trying to protect the borders of their countries/ properties/ even their ideas (democracy against tyranny; capitalism vs communism...reminds you of something?)
Society has created the institution of marriage with its commitment to one man/one woman in order to prevent chaos - both moral and physical (violence brought on by jealousy, for example).
The woman actually wants the man to give her a child and be there to protect her and bring food while she tends to its development till it can take care of itself.
However, there are still millions of cases where the woman loses the child through disease, or it is stillborn, or is killed in war or natural disasters.
This is where the man's polygamus nature comes in. Nature tells the man to go and impregnate as many women as possible in order to preserve the species. (The poor guy thinks he's the one deciding about this sex thing when it's Nature telling him what to do).
The woman who suffers from seeing her husband flit from woman to woman feels that her protector and the one who brings her food is leaving her and she is now in a state of danger - she must attack and try to stop him in order to protect her child - again, it's Nature speaking - we poor humans have nothing to say about it! No laws are going to limit polygamy and no woman is going to let her man go without fighting back.
Nature just loves to write romances!

hell no... not all men are!!! Some men can stay faithful to only one women. In fact some men think it is wrong to be married or have sexual intercourse to multiple women.

Maybe, but that doesn't make it right. Perhaps the more accurate term is polyamorous.
