Peace can only exist if everyone wants it. If even one person is working to keep fighting and violence in the world, it will continue.

The world will never be peaceful.
As long as you have people out there making a living, unlikely peace will ever prevail.
A compliment from the “designer”, in ensuring that we will not succumb to hardships and distracted from persevering towards an objective. We are endowed the extraordinary of resilient and ingenuity that change the face of the earth into unimaginable of goodness. However, we are never far away from the joy or sorrow that somehow besieged our lives. Even though we are builders of this earth and all livableness, equally we are destroyers as well. The aspirant for change has also accentuated the vicissitudes of our lives, where principles and methodical role in the expense of actions became self-centered, destructive, and hindrance to tranquility.
In fact, we are builders and destroyers as well, and nothing of the two will survive the test of time( we will be gone by then), unless the willingness for a common cause of coexistence is acceptable to all. -------- It is not late.

Free will. We were created by God to have the freedom to choose actions toward good or evil. I think as long as human beings will exist, there will never be world peace. Human beings are too complex creatures to peg into one hole. The other alternative is all the creatures in planet Earth turn into robots, espousing one belief system.

The reason why we will never have world peace is because people want things to be done their way and only their way.

I think that the majority of the world's peace problems are caused by religious intolerance. I think we, as humanity, need to accept that others have different belief systems and respect those differences, if not embrace them. Our differences keep us colorful. Stop trying to convert everyone! Just because it's Your answer, doesn't make the only correct one! (that was a general statement, not directed at you)

in the Bible John warns "love not the world nor its things, for all this is of the world is of the evil one" (forgot which verses). Satan himself admitted it when he tried to tempt Jesus in the Desert. he takes jesus to the top of a mountain and shows him all the kindoms of the world "i shall give all this to you, for i have recieved it, but you must worship me" and Jesus rebuks him with a quote from the scriptures. Satan inhabits this world, he is the god of this world he is the one who "has blinded those who believe not in the Messiah" and "for he who loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him" (John) :(
if you don't believe me look at your precous government-the white house, the greatest Gov. in the entire world, it has the most powerful military/economy and even in political means AND..... its at the bottom of an enormus satanic pentagram, it just shows how this world is under the dominion of the d(evil) one.(download something called Google-Earth and see for your self)
Where there is Breath(spirit) there is hope! Free yourselves from this "wicked, evil world!" and "be not the slave of time!" "set your affections on things above" so that "thieves and moths will not destroy [your] accumulated treasures!"
"See if you have eyes! Hear if you have Ears!"

Conflict of interest, groups and civilizations have conflict of interest for example think back to the days of early civilization and the root causes of war and conflict. Heck if you like.. let me take you back to the days of the bible and to the root of evil.....
Abraham had 2 sons named Abel and Cain. You may remember this from Sunday school but the murder of the brother is the first homicide case in history. One of the brothers tricked Abraham their father to get his blessing and as a result kills his brother (I forgot which brother did what)
Go read Samuel Huntington - The West vs. The Rest - Clash of civilization

even if the majority of the world does obtain peace, there will ALWAYS be someone who wants to mess that up or who doesn't agree with someone else. and that person will end the peace we had obtained.
