Does his glasses have lenses?

I'm watching an episode of 'What's Happening Now'. I'm getting curious, because it looks as though 'Rodger' (Ernest Thomas) is wearing eyeglass frames with no lenses. Are they full view glasses or viewed by the naked eye with frame?

Sometimes the character's glasses don't have lenses becuase the camera/studio light reflect off of them too much.

In newer shows, the lenses are treated with antiglare material. Maybe the older shows didn't have that technology then.
