Hello:

Don't laugh, but Vaseline Petroleum Jelly that is sold in the jars in the health and beauty section of your local grocery stores or Wal-Mart,K-Mart,Target,etc.. will work. Just put A LITTLE of it on your finger and apply it to both your top and bottom lip! Chapstick has never worked for me because it just makes my dry lips feel even worse! I hope this helps and I hope that will try this because it really does work! ;-)

There a number of quite excellent and really inespensive ones available in the market. My favorites are the Burt's Bees Beeswax lipbalm (that one also involves peppermint and mint extracts to chill and soothe lips as well as moisturize them and freshen breath). I also love the Bonne Bell Lipsmackers in all colours and flavors but notably Vanilla and Dr. Pepper hues, the Alba Botanica coconut lip balm and the Burt's Bees Strawberry Lip Gloss (it can be particularly hydrating and has a pleasant smell and taste with out a colour in a clear, sleek brilliant finish). Hope that helps!

Carmex is the best thing in the world. I use it twice a day, after I wash my face in the morning and after I wash my face at night. When you go to the store you cannot miss it, it is yellow with a red cap.

i had the same problem last week. try a cream balm such as blistex or carmex. the chapstick can pull on your lips as you are putting it on and can actually make your lips worse (trust me...it made mine so bad i developed fever blisters) so be nice to your lips and soothe them with creams =]
