My car battery, there is 2 terminals.. one has a rubber cover and the other terminal doesnt. The one that doesnt have the cover, keeps building up acid and today I couldn't start my engine (Had to do a jump-start). Do they sell stuff that could prevent this?

Disconnect both battery terminals (negative first). Clean the battery top with baking soda and water and dry it. Clean the terminals on the battery with the same solution and scrub with a stiff brush. Dry the terminals. Apply a light coat of either lithium or silicon grease to the terminals. Clean the battery cable clamps the same way and apply the same grease with a light coat on the inside of the clamp and a heavy coat on the outside of the clamp. Reconnect the batttery.

Yes, Coca-Cola or a baking soda solution will clean it but will not prevent it.

One trick that worked great for me for twelve years on one of my cars was to attach a copper penny (the old solid copper ones) to the terminal. Drill a little hole in the penny and into the battery terminal or clamp and screw it on. The penny acts as an anode and tarnishes slightly, preventing a lot of acid buildup.

Yes, but you don't need it. Use an old toothbrush and some white vinegar. Disconnect the lead, then clean the terminal with the vinegar. Works like a charm!
