I think that countries, the US for example, should stop treating marriage as a privelage. Church and state in the US should is supposed to be seperate, yet the reasoning for disallowing homosexual marriage is always religious based. The right to marry is just that a human right and not a heterosexual privelage.
It is not realistic to believe that homosexual marriage being approved/allowed will in any way end with everybody being homosexual. If that were true the logic in reverse would be that all homosexuals would cease being homosexuals simply to marry. Orientation should not be affected by the ability or lack there of of a person to marry that person whom they love.

Personally, as long as two people of age want to get married, knock yourselves out.
I don't like the "seperate but equal concept". If homosexuals are going to be allowed to be married, I think that they should be afforded the same rights and benefits as hetro couples (tax status, benefits, property, estate handling, etc..)
The only thing I am torn on is the right for homosexual couples to have children. To be honest, this is because of my total ignorance of child psychology. Are two loving gay parents better than a child spending their life in foster care? Of course. Will being raised by same sex parents have an effect on a child's state of mind? This is where my ignorance comes in. My guess is that it probably won't affect the child at all, but I have no clue.
I think that the resistance against gay marriage in the US is a waste of energy. Hetros have a 50% divorce rate. The institution of marriage can't get much worse. The gay people I have met in my life behave just like straight people. A few are "promiscuous" (and hey, great for them!!!), but most are in steady relationships and are pretty much like everyone else.
Gay Marriage? Go for it! More power to you!

I see nothing wrong with us getting married. and, if all countries approve it, the world will not end. "everybody" will not be homosexuals....not everyone is homosexual now. it won't make people "turn" gay. we've been around as long as there have been humans. it's genetic...the way we're born. and has there ever been a threat to the world's population? not hardly!

I think gay marriage is OK. Why does someone else get to decide on another person's level of happiness. And honestly, how would gay marriage affect you in anyway? It really won't. People against it are just basket cases, and they need to stop worrying about everyone else's business. People are so friggen nosy.

I think that all governments should rid themselves of issuing marriages to everyone, and just recognize civil unions, and separate the church and government. I also think that civil unions should be available to types of couples.
