AVG Free by Grisoft. However, if you have virus infections on your computer, removing them will probably not solve the problem. You can remove the virus but the damage has already been done to your operating system, specifically to the registry.Use an online scanner as provided by Symantec or Trend Micro to scan your PC. If you have one or two bugs then you can usually reverse the damage done to the registry. However, if you have more, then forget it. Backup all your data, then kill the partition and start from scratch.

In addition to all of the above, get a good firewall. Zone Alarm is free, blocks incomming and outgoing internet connections that you select. Windows firewall only blocks incomming threats. I've had it since July last year and it has blocked 77,000 attempts on my computer!
