I want one small enough to put in my truck's engine compartment. Preferably under $40.

Hi there!
I know what you want as i did the same thing.
I got tired of people doing lame things all around me while i am driving. So i went down to the flea market and bought an old cb radio from the 70's for $5.00. Then i found a nice waterproof speaker horn for another $5.00 at same flea market. I installed the pa horn near front of vehicle and have cb microphone close to driver.
Now when someone is being lame i can yell into the pa "move your butt please". (although i am not usually that nice)
It works great and the other drivers really hear it good!
It helped a lot one night when my friend got lost in woods on vacation. We drove around screaming into pa and he locked in on us!

Any CB radio with a PA jack will do the trick. Get one at a pawn shop, and a small PA horn and 1/8 mono plug from Radio Shack.

Stop being a redneck, its killing you. You could just buy a Pa speaker at a flea market, one that operates on 12v dc. Get a cb/pa, and connect them.
