If I say Black people have great rhythm, i am praised for being open minded. If I say they are pre-disposed to crime, i am labeled a racist. Why?

Black people aren't any more pre-disposed to crime than white people. Economics and Geographic location play a bigger part. If you want to see who the most pre-disposed to crime group, look into boys that were raised without a father figure! (Again, not race related!) Anyhow to answer your question I think that they are both stereotypes that need to be ignored! I wouldn't necessarily call you a racist, it sounds like you are misinformed or use stereotypes where you shouldn't.

Ben B, i would respond to you in particular because I am very offended by your stereotype and ignorance. I am african, came here after highschool and started college a week later. Different culture, different lots of things but i got a pre-professional zoology major and chemistry minor in 3 yrs, youngest to graduate in my class. Now a doctor, still youngest in my residency year and very accomplished academically as well as in other areas of my life. The first thing i noticed about this country is that unfortunately blacks are set up tofail. It is becuase of stereotypes held by people like you that teachers expect less from their black students than from others and don't push them as much. There is also a cultural and socioeconomic factor involved. People of lower socieconomic class and people who do not believe in their abilities do not do as well. The same thing happens in sports, more blacks are pushed to excel because of the stereotype. I was able to walk on into my college track and field team, i don't think a white person with similar qualifications would.
Lastly, you would react the same way if i said, white people are great in something ( a generalization) vs white people suck at something else (some other stereotype).
In summary, see people as they are, without the color barrier and you will actually get to know them as they are, not as YOU think they should be.

Maybe b/c "black men are pre-disposed to crime" is a blatant lie. If it were true, every black man would be in prison. Anyone saying something like that is probably using it in a negative context.
As for "Black people have great rhythm", it is another stereotype but a positive one, yet it is still a lie.

Have some sources other than ****)rmina.com or www.racewar.com. Everyone knows that every race commits crime. If your talking about black people committing crimes in black communities everyone knows this happens. White people commit crime in their community and so on... according to the information I see black people don't commit more crime than whites. If your really interested in my sources. Send me an email. Maybe my sources are wrong.

Both are stereotypes and quite ridiculous if you ask me.
But to answer your question, one is clearly more positive than the other, this is why you are labeled as a racist. People like getting pats on their back but they're not as fond of having people slap them in the face.

Well to be honest, there's a very very very thin line between the two. I think your all inclusion words are the killers here. Many Black People instead of Black People could change the entire responses you get back. Go ahead, pay attention to your words and give it another try.

^^studies of the justice system have said that blacks are pre-disposed to crime. but that doesn't mean its because they are black, it probably has alot more to do with economics.
and i do not know why you are, but i agree that would label you a racist.

Because the truth is not always pleasant. However it is always the truth. Racist is the liberal BUZZ word. It has about as much credence as they do.
