I just recently added a password to my other PC.However,I was foolish and did not write it down. So,now I am stuck trying to open a user account with no password. Is there a way I can relocate the password? If so,how?Do i have to restore my laptop?

Using an administrator account you can change the passwords for any user account.

If you don't have any admin account password then boot into safe mode and log in using the system admin account....it's a default user profile resident in windows and seperate from any admin acct you created. By default it does not have a password so just leave that blank

Just go into safe mode...go into the main account and change the password.

To go into safe mode, look for the appropiate button to press on start-up. Is is going to be an "F" key not sure which one though. For me it's"F12." The F keys are located at the top of the keyboard,...you probably know but im just making sure

if it's xp home you might be able to hit CTRL+ALT+DEL at the welcome screen. type Administrator as username and leave password blank. then go to that account and go to START>RUN>lusrmgr.msc and right click on the account and change password. see this site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321305
